First hydrogen refueling station for OKQ8

IMG 9275

In October 2025, Resato Hydrogen Technology delivered Sweden’s newest hydrogen refueling station in Gothenburg, OKQ8’s very first. The station provides both 350 and 700 bar refueling for heavy-duty and passenger vehicles, supporting the nation’s transition toward zero-emission transport. Developed in collaboration with Econ and Euromekanik, this project demonstrates how partnership and technology accelerate the clean mobility movement.

Technical specifications:

  • Installation date: October 2025
  • Operator: OKQ8
  • Type Station: 350 bar for trucks and buses and 700 bar for cars
  • Accessibility: Public station for buses, trucks and cars
  • Details: Delivered by Resato Hydrogen Technology in collaboration with Econ and Euromekanik. Co-funded by Klimatklivet and the European Union to accelerate Sweden’s transition toward clean mobility

Testimonial

This opening is an important milestone for us, not only because it’s our first hydrogen station, but also because it’s located in a key area: in the city of Gothenburg, right next to major transport routes.

Thorbjörn Ridderberg
COO OKQ8

The hydrogen refueling station in Gothenburg marks OKQ8’s first step into hydrogen mobility.

Developed in collaboration with Econ and Euromekanik, and delivered by Resato Hydrogen Technology, the station enables both heavy-duty and passenger vehicles to refuel at 350 and 700 bar.

Commissioned in October 2025, this public station is part of Sweden’s growing hydrogen network and contributes to the country’s goal of building a sustainable, zero-emission transport system. Supported by Klimatklivet and the European Union, the project highlights how strong partnerships and reliable technology can accelerate the energy transition.

Project story

As Sweden pushes toward a zero-emission future, the need for reliable hydrogen infrastructure is growing fast. To meet this demand, OKQ8, one of the country’s leading energy providers, took a bold step by investing in hydrogen mobility. The company partnered with Econ and Resato Hydrogen Technology to realize a future-proof refueling station in Gothenburg.

Resato delivered the complete hydrogen system, designed for both 350- and 700-bar refueling. The modular design ensures high uptime, scalability, and safe operation, key requirements for a technology that supports both heavy-duty and passenger transport.

By combining OKQ8’s vision, Econ’s project development, Euromekanik’s local integration, and Resato’s technical expertise, the Gothenburg station was successfully commissioned in October 2025. Co-funded by Klimatklivet and the European Union, it stands as a milestone in Sweden’s journey toward sustainable mobility.

Impact

The Gothenburg station represents more than a technical achievement, it’s a clear step toward a cleaner transport network in Sweden. By offering both 350 and 700 bar refueling, it enables fleet operators and private drivers to confidently adopt hydrogen mobility without compromise.

For OKQ8, the project marks the beginning of its hydrogen journey and demonstrates its commitment to providing sustainable fuel solutions across its network. For Resato, it reinforces the company’s role as a technology partner capable of delivering reliable, scalable systems that support Europe’s decarbonization goals.

Together, the partners have set a new benchmark for hydrogen infrastructure in Scandinavia, one that combines innovation, collaboration, and a long-term vision for zero-emission transport.
