Conference at SOLUTRANS 2025: Understanding the Rise of Zero-Emission Trucks in Northern Europe
On Thursday, November 20, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Eric Mehl will represent Resato Hydrogen Technology as a speaker during the conference “Understanding and Analyzing the Rise of Zero-Emission Trucks in Northern Europe” at SOLUTRANS 2025 in Lyon.
This session brings together leading voices from across the transport and energy sectors, including representatives from Milence, Scania, Daimler Truck, and Resato Hydrogen Technology. Together, they will explore the key drivers behind the rapid adoption of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles in Northern Europe, a region that has become a benchmark for sustainable transport.
What to Expect from the Session
Northern European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands are at the forefront of the clean transport revolution. Their governments have implemented ambitious environmental policies, including strict CO₂ regulations, low-emission zones, and progressive diesel bans. These measures, combined with financial incentives and tax exemptions, make the switch to zero-emission trucks increasingly attractive to hauliers and logistics operators.
At the same time, large corporations and supply chains are under growing pressure to reduce their carbon footprint. Driven by consumer expectations and regulatory demands, many companies are now integrating electric and hydrogen trucks into their operations to meet sustainability goals.
Hydrogen Infrastructure: The Missing Link
As part of the panel, Eric Mehl will discuss the critical role of hydrogen infrastructure in enabling this transition. Drawing on Resato Hydrogen’s experience in developing and commissioning refueling stations across Northern Europe, including several new sites in Sweden, which are already operational or opening soon, he will highlight how hydrogen technology supports the decarbonization of heavy transport at scale.
By sharing real-world insights from the field, Eric will demonstrate how local partnerships, supportive regulation, and technical innovation come together to make zero-emission logistics a reality.
Why It Matters
The Nordic model offers valuable lessons for the rest of Europe. A strong environmental culture, clear political commitment to carbon neutrality, and significant investments in infrastructure are propelling the region toward clean mobility faster than anywhere else. For fleet operators, manufacturers, and policymakers, understanding this ecosystem is essential to shaping a sustainable transport future.
Join the conference on Thursday, November 20 (10:00–11:00 a.m.) at SOLUTRANS 2025, Lyon Eurexpo, and visit Resato Hydrogen in Hall 3, Stand A144 to continue the conversation and see the 3D render of our latest hydrogen refueling station.
