Resato delivers hydrogen refueling station in Lübeck for MB Energy and Hypion

Lübeck, Germany, 29 January 2026 – The mission to reduce transport emissions took an important step forward today with the ceremonial opening of a new hydrogen refueling station in Lübeck. The station, delivered by Resato Hydrogen Technology, is designed to serve both heavy-duty vehicles and light commercial vehicles and plays a key role in strengthening Germany’s hydrogen mobility network.

The project was developed by Hypion and has been taken over by MB Energy. During the opening ceremony, a hydrogen-powered truck managed by hylane was successfully refueled, underlining the station’s capability to support commercial heavy-duty hydrogen operations.

The hydrogen refueling station is strategically located near the A1 motorway, one of Germany’s main north–south transport corridors. This location makes the station ideally suited to support regional and long-haul logistics, by providing convenient access for future hydrogen-powered traffic passing through the Lübeck area and connecting to major economic hubs.

Donald Gase, COO of Resato, emphasized the importance of the project:

“Hydrogen refueling stations like the one in Lübeck are essential for reducing emissions resulting from mobility. Especially for heavy-duty transport, hydrogen offers a strong advantage because refueling infrastructure is far less influenced by grid congestion. This allows operators to refuel quickly and reliably, even in areas where electricity grid capacity is limited.”

With this new installation, Resato reinforces its role as a leading supplier of hydrogen refueling solutions, while MB Energy and Hypion contribute to the expansion of a future-proof hydrogen infrastructure supporting sustainable transport across Germany.
