Umeå / Storuman, Sweden, 16 January 2026 - Resato Hydrogen Technology has delivered two hydrogen refueling stations in northern Sweden, marking the first hydrogen infrastructure projects in the country designed specifically for Arctic conditions. The stations were developed for Skellefteå Kraft and OKQ8.

Located in Umeå and Storuman, the stations support both 350 bar and 700 bar dispensing, serving hydrogen-powered transport for heavy-duty vehicles and passenger cars.

Built for extreme cold-weather environments, both stations feature an Arctic-optimized cooling solution developed by Resato to support reliable operation in sub-zero temperatures and harsh winter conditions.

Martijn Kruisweg, Chief Commercial Officer at Resato Hydrogen Technology, commented:

“I am very pleased to personally witness this opening ceremony, what a milestone. These projects are particularly special due to the heavy weather circumstances and the challenging Arctic environment. Hydrogen is an ideal solution for colder climates, and these stations clearly demonstrate that. A special thank you goes to our partner Euromekanik, who stood by our side throughout the entire project.”

With these stations, Resato, Skellefteå Kraft, and OKQ8 are expanding hydrogen mobility in northern Sweden and demonstrating that hydrogen refueling infrastructure can be deployed for reliable operation in Arctic conditions.
